ReviewRabbit is a Chrome extension that analyzes user reviews on supported app store product pages and returns AI-generated competitive intelligence. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we share with third parties. We have written it in plain English because we believe you should be able to understand it without a law degree.
What We Collect and Why
Review text from product pages
When you click Analyze on a supported product page, ReviewRabbit reads the review text visible on that page and sends it to our secure cloud proxy, which forwards it to Anthropic’s Claude AI API to generate your analysis. This review text is not stored on our servers after the analysis is returned. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than generating the analysis you explicitly requested.
Usage timestamps
To enforce the free tier limit of 5 analyses per rolling 30-day window, ReviewRabbit stores an array of timestamps locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Your last 30 completed analyses are stored locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
User preferences
Lightweight preferences such as display settings are stored using Chrome’s sync storage, which Google syncs across your Chrome devices via their own infrastructure. No personally identifiable information is stored in preferences.
Email address
If you upgrade to ReviewRabbit Pro, ExtensionPay collects your email address to create your account and manage your subscription. ReviewRabbit does not directly handle, store, or have access to your payment card information. All payment processing is handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe under their own privacy policies.
Anonymized usage analytics
ReviewRabbit uses PostHog to collect anonymized data about how the extension is used. This includes events such as clicking the Analyze button, running an analysis, viewing the upgrade prompt, exporting a PDF, and copying Markdown. This data is collected in aggregate and is never linked to your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information. We use this data solely to understand which features are being used and to improve the product. You can opt out of analytics tracking by uninstalling the extension.
Third Parties
ReviewRabbit works with the following third-party services to deliver its functionality:
Anthropic processes review text to generate competitive analysis. Their privacy policy governs their handling of this data and can be found at anthropic.com.
ExtensionPay handles user authentication and subscription management for Pro accounts. Their privacy policy governs their handling of account and payment data.
Stripe processes payments on behalf of ExtensionPay. Their privacy policy governs their handling of financial data.
Vercel hosts the cloud proxy function that routes requests between the extension and Anthropic’s API. Request data passes through Vercel’s infrastructure transiently and is not stored.
PostHog collects anonymized in-extension usage events to help us understand how ReviewRabbit is being used. No personally identifiable information is transmitted to PostHog. Their privacy policy governs their handling of this data and can be found at posthog.com.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with any other third parties.
What We Do Not Do
We do not collect your browsing history. We do not monitor your activity outside of supported product pages. We do not collect location data, health information, financial information, or personal communications. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to generating the analysis you requested. We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Permissions We Use
ReviewRabbit requests the following Chrome permissions:
activeTab allows us to read review content from the product page you are currently viewing. storage allows us to save usage timestamps, analysis history, and preferences to your device. tabs allows us to detect whether your current page is a supported product page. Host permissions for the Chrome Web Store, Shopify App Store, and BigCommerce allow us to inject our content script on those pages only.
We do not request any permissions beyond what is necessary to deliver the core functionality of the extension.
Data Retention
Review text is not retained after your analysis is generated. Usage timestamps and analysis history are stored locally on your device and are automatically cleared on a rolling 30-day basis or when you uninstall the extension. If you delete your Pro account through ExtensionPay, your account data is deleted according to ExtensionPay’s own data retention policy.
Your Rights
You can clear all locally stored ReviewRabbit data at any time by going to chrome://extensions, finding ReviewRabbit, and clicking Remove. This deletes all locally stored usage data, analysis history, and preferences from your device. To request deletion of your account data held by ExtensionPay, contact us at the email below and we will process the request on your behalf.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of ReviewRabbit after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
